Instead of having a regular sandwich with "regular" bread, try these alternatives:
Pita pockets
Tortillas
Lettuce Wraps
Specialty breads (wheat, no flour, rye, squirrely, flax, etc)
Sushi
Indian Naan Bread
Scoop out the inside of a bagel and fill it with veggies, or other sandwich fillers
Focaccia bread
Flatbread
