According to a recent study in the American Journal of Epidmiology, participants who got 22-50% of their total daily calories at breakfast gained only 1.7 pounds on average over 4 years.
Those who ate 0 - 11% of their calories at breakfast gained almost 3 pounds. This will add up over time. A pound here and a pound there, and suddenly your jeans are skin tight!!
Skipping breakfast releases excess insulin, which is stored as fat. Aim for foods high in fiber, low in sugar, salt and unhealthy fats.
