Shin Splints...

Oh, my aching shins!!

It is important to take the nagging pain, in the front of the shins, seriously. Here is some info on shin splints, have a read over it. Take some time out , and rest. It really is important to make sure the shoe fits your foot - not only size wise, but have you had your feet assessed to see if you need a neutral shoe, or if you pronate or supinate? Do you wear orthotics? If so, do you wear them in your boot camp shoes? An increase in activity can cause the pain as well. It is important to not start jogging too early in the program.

(Boot Camp-ers) Let's take a good 3 or 4 laps around the park before we start to jog. We really need to listen to our body, and take care of it before it is too late. If the pain is persistant, and just will not let up, please make sure you see your Dr. or Physio to get it looked after, and properly diagnosed.
