Boot Camp April 2009...

Boot camp workouts are efficient because you work your entire body-- heart and muscles--by going from one exercise to another with no rest. The workouts involve calisthenics like pushups, jumping jacks, crunches and other body weight exercises...the difference lies in the intensity. In Boot Camp, your challenge is to take your body to its limit. You work, you sweat and, best of all, you burn calories like crazy.

Boot camp workouts are:
• A great way to burn lots of calories.
• Efficient - you work your whole body in a short period of time.
• Fun - each exercise is different so you don't get bored.
• As challenging as you want them to be.

If you are a beginner, you should:• Perform each exercise for as long as you can, and work your way up gradually.
• Take a few seconds to catch your breath and then move on to the next exercise.
• Sip water throughout the workout. When you get tired, walk in place (don’t stop moving).
• Monitor your intensity, your Rating of Perceived exertion should be between 6 – 9.

You will want to bring water and a towel to each workout, as well come prepared to work hard!! It is important that you check with your Doctor before beginning this program. Listening to your body is an important part of this program, stay within your own limits and don’t overdo it. This will greatly decrease your chance of injury. Check your shoes!! Improper footwear can lead to blisters, shin splints, sore feet, knee pain, ankle pain, hip pain, back and neck pain just to list a few.

Always be aware of your surroundings!!
Including but not limited to – Heat, wet grass and cement, untied shoelaces, divots, potholes, rocks, vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, animals, falling objects, glass, nails, mud, uneven terrain, weather changes, sidewalks, other participants, etc.

Please be prompt so we can start on time. If you have any questions or concerns, please address them with me promptly. I thank you for enrolling in this Fitness Boot Camp!!

“Always chose the path that moves in the direction of your dreams. Though your journey may be filled with many winding roads, when you are inspired to follow your dreams, you eventually find success, and discover it is less about the destination and more about the manner in which you traveled.”

All the best to you on this journey - Lisa
